The Max Warburg Courage Curriculum's 25th Awards Luncheon

Our 25th Luncheon was held on May 16th, 2016 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. We had a wonderful turnout and 52 Boston students were awarded as Max Fellows. 

Our speakers included:

  • Mayor Martin Walsh, Boston MA
  • Paul Reville, Former Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Carrie Minot Bell, Vice President of The Max Warburg Courage Curriculum

2016 Courage In My Life Essay Contest Winners Announced

We are pleased to announce the winner of the 2016 Courage in My Life National Essay Contest is 8th grader Munirat I. of The Bronx School for Young Leaders in the Bronx,  New York.

The seventh year of The Max Warburg Courage Curriculum's Courage in My Life National Essay Contest saw over 400 submissions from classrooms across the United States. We have been so inspired by the many stories of perseverance, hope and courage shared by middle school students participating in this year's writing exercise.


We are pleased to announce the honorable mentions of the contest, who's inspiring essays will also be published in the 25th volume of The Courage of Children: Boston and Beyond, the organization's annual publication.

The Max Warburg Courage Curriculum's 25th Essay Judging

Our 25th annual Essay Judging was  held on Thursday, February 25th, 2016  in Boston, Ma. We truly appreciate our volunteers' time and effort to select our 2016 Max Fellows, sixth-graders from Boston and surrounding communities, as well as participants from our national and international programs. The essays chosen have been published in the 25th volume of our annual publication, The Courage of Children: Boston and Beyond.
